makingtracks: Tracks kneeling down in front of someone (kneel)
Knock Out is a difficult case. Tracks would say the Decepticon is his best friend in an instant, but- This is not the neon world of Svelte, and this Knock Out is not the one who patched his wings when the sky hunger threatened to tear Tracks apart. Tracks has difficulty telling the two versions of his friend apart, but tries his best. Still, there's not much he wouldn't do for the medic, from chatting paint, to defending his friend from his own Megatron.
For a Decepticon Seeker, Slipstream is a lot friendlier and easier to get along with than any Tracks has met before. Even the usual high and mighty flier superiority seems to be - if not absent - lessened from her counterparts in Tracks' world. He's happy to spend time with her whenever she likes, whether for driving lessons or just to chat.
Sunstreaker may not be the same mech Tracks knows, but that doesn't change much. Sunstreaker clearly needs a friend, and Tracks is more than willing to be it. He worries, and wonders exactly what this poor mech went through... But he won't pry. He'll just do his best to be there for Sunstreaker, no matter what he needs.
In Tracks' optics, Deckerd - human creation or not - is a newbuilt in need of some mentoring. He's a sweet kid, almost unfathomably young to a mech who's already millions of years old, and Tracks feels protective of him- Something that might come to chafe against Deckerd's insistence that he's perfectly capable.
Riptide is perfectly fine, mostly. He and Tracks have a lot in common, and the date they had was nice... But there seems to be a bit of awkwardness still persisting, at least from Tracks' side. It's also likely that if Riptide's own bigotry towards artificial intelligence were to come up, Tracks would cut ties. But for now, they remain awkward acquaintances.
Tracks worries for Smokescreen. To die, and so soon after first arriving... Tracks can't imagine what it's like. So he'll look out for the kid, as he has with his own world's Bumblebee, and if any Decepticons want to try their luck again... Well, they'll have to go through Tracks first.
It's rare to meet another 'ground frame' capable of flight, and Tracks is delighted to find a friend who can in Hot Shot. While they're still just becoming friends, he quite likes the kid, and hopes they can work together more in the future.
Grimlock is the only Autobot on the R2 that's from the same world as Tracks... Which is a problem, because they don't really get along. Tracks is well aware that Grimlock thinks he puts too much stock in his own frame rather than the things the Dinobot thinks is important, and in return Tracks feels Grimlock is far too brutish. He just doesn't understand what connections Tracks has made, or how Tracks feels that he can no longer even think of the war here.
Tracks can always appreciate a good mechanic and painter, and Mikaela is both. They haven't had a chance to chat much past the first meeting, but he's still got a date with her services! He just has to remember that first...
Chop Shop's relationship with Tracks started out a little rough. Both having spent time in the simulation world of Svelte - where they were wary of each other at best - it wasn't until Tracks' sinking to sky-hunger that Chop Shop reached out to help. Now, they're the only two from Svelte- And Chop Shop is a lot more fun than Tracks realized. Who knows, maybe this'll work out better than either of them could have hoped.
A brother he never had- That's Needlenose. While they haven't known each other long, Tracks wishes he was Needlenose's brother, not his counterpart. It's foolish jealousy for a person he doesn't even know, but why did the other Tracks start in so much better circumstances than him? While Needlenose is here, though... Maybe Tracks can get a bit of what was denied him.

CHARACTER INFORMATION

CHARACTER NAME: Tracks
CANON: Transformers G1
TIMELINE: post S2, but prior to the movie
AGE: Counting the 4 million years he spent in stasis on the Ark, maybe about 6 million?

REFERENCE: Tracks @ TFWiki

PERSONALITY: Tracks is a very vain individual. He keeps his chassis shined and paint unscratched when he can help it despite his role as a warrior, and has a tendency of boasting about it, or complaining first and then acting when his finish is damaged on the battlefield. Curiously enough, he also prefers his alternate mode to his root mode ("I'd rather stay in my stunning auto mode-"), though he knows he looks good either way. Combine this with his very snooty-sounding voice, and you'd be forgiven for thinking he's got a stuffy, aloof personality.

Despite his vanity, Tracks doesn't let it keep him from doing his job; he may be temporarily outraged and distracted by a scuff to his paint but - unlike what some may think - he won't hesitate to enter a fight with a Decepticon just because of possible damage. In fact, he's been known to take initiative on his own, tracking and taking out Decepticons without even thinking of radioing for back-up (as in both Make Tracks and Auto-Bop), simply because he was the only mech around to help. He knows his capabilities as a warrior fairly well; while he can occasionally bite off more than he can chew, he is more than capable enough to stand up to mechs like Starscream on his own.

Tracks may be vain, but he also is incredibly fond of humans and their culture, to the point of finding the company of other Autobots 'stuffy' ("At least humans aren't boring!"); they have a tendency of calling him a 'lousy Earth lover', and in return Tracks is a loner among his own kind more often than not. Despite this, Tracks is a surprisingly friendly individual. He easily gets along with humans and is happy to interact with them on their own terms, whether that be hitting the night clubs or helping them out with a street dancing gig. Part and parcel with this is what parts of human culture Tracks finds most enjoyable; unlike what one might expect, he enjoys the less 'reputable', such as rock and roll, hip hop, and similar, and counts among his friends a number of people who come from the lower rungs of human society, such as his best friend Raoul. Among the Autobots, his friends tend to be those who also appreciate humanity, such as Blaster.

ABILITIES: As a Cybertronian, Tracks has the endurance, speed, and strength you'd expect from a mech of his size, and is a warrior with thousands upon thousands of years of experience to boot. He can fire most weaponry that he can get his hands on, and is quite proficient in hand to hand combat as well, though he dislikes it. In addition, as a Cybertronian Tracks also has the following abilities:

Transformation: Tracks has an 'alternate mode' which appears to be a Chevrolet Corvette (C3) - in particular the 1980-82 release - which he can shift into. This alternate mode also allows him flight, due to a pair of wings he can extend and engines capable of achieving speeds of 280 mph.
Weaponry: Tracks has a pair of launchers built into his frame - mounted sort of from his shoulders - which can fire heat-seeking missiles.
Subspace: A little extra-dimensional pocket where Cybertronians can store their things, like weaponry; it's also where mass can be shunted in transformation.

PERSONAL EFFECTS: Tracks always carries his black beam gun in his subspace (a handheld laser rifle that can fire either a standard laser or a black, blinding gas), a small energon cube just in case, and a small jar of car polish.
PRIZED POSSESSION: A small photo in a protective frame, usually kept in his quarters on the Ark: it's of him, Blaster, Raoul, and his friends, all grinning for the camera.

Character name: Tracks
Canon: Transformers G1
Canon point: Any (G1 is a mess anyway)
Pronouns: He/Him, They/Them (he's not super fussy)

Character details: Called a 'lousy earth lover' by some of the Autobots, Tracks has taken to Earth and taken to it well; he often prefers being in his sleek corvette stingray alt mode and cruising the streets of Earth's cities than to hanging around the Ark. He's vain, and it shows: he keeps his chassis spotless and shiny, his paint unfaded, and friends joke that the snooty-sounding Tracks would rather stare at his reflection than do his job as a warrior. It's no secret that he prefers his current form a lot more than his Cybertronian one; functionism wasn't kind to a mech whose alternate mode straddles both flier and ground-frames, and here on Earth is an easy escape from it.

But past the voice and the vanity is a mech that truly, genuinely loves Earth and all the humans do, particularly enjoying the 'less reputable' scenes of hip-hop and rock and roll, and even making friends with a small time criminal from New York called Raoul. Because Tracks is, at his core, a genuinely good, friendly person. And even all the prejudice he faced pre-war couldn't take it from him.
Warnings: While G1 is a light-hearted mess, it does deal with war and this account takes a more serious approach to it. Therefore it will sometimes deal with it and related topics. There's also talk of functionism here - robot racism based on your alt mode - and all that entails.

[OOC]

Backtagging: Hell yeah. Might wanna discuss if you wanna do a long thread beforehand, though.
Threadhopping: Preferably discussed beforehand, but willing with people I know.
Fourthwalling: Nope
Off limits: Eye trauma
Warn first: I have no major triggers other than the above but avoid too much gratuitous gore and similar please. cws for troubling topics are appreciated!

[IC]

Physical affection: Tracks might be a nice guy, but... No, not unless he knows your character well. He's had too many people touch him - particularly his wings - without his consent out of 'curiosity'.
Physical violence: PLEASE discuss 'death' and major injuries with me first. Otherwise, minor injuries are fair game.
Romance: Tracks might come across as flirty sometimes, but a strong friendship would have to be built up first- Again, functionism has meant that sometimes people would try to date him just because he's an 'anomaly'.
Use of telepathy/mind reading: Yes, to some extent. Warn me ahead of time at least.
CRAU recognition: Sure!
